FC Gold Pride (Pride) is a Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) team based out Hayward, California. The WPS is the premier women’s professional league in North America. The Pride was established in 2008 and is one of seven founding members of WPS. Pride home games are played at Pioneer Stadium, which is on the campus of California State University East Bay. The team is owned by Nancy and Brian NeSmith. Brian NeSmith is the President and CEO of Blue Coat Systems. Nancy, is the first female WPS majority owner. The Pride are led on the sidelines by Albertin Montoya, who has been the head coach of FC Gold Pride since its inception. On the field, the team is led by Christine Sinclair, Tiffeny Milbrett, Adriane, and Brandi Chastain. The Pride are looking ahead to both success on and off the field in 2010.
